2027 KAWASAKI KLX140R,

Meet the 2027 Kawasaki KLX140R in —a dirt-ready machine that looks like it’s already halfway to the trailhead. That bold finish pairs perfectly with the KLX140R’s clean, purposeful off-road attitude, built for riders who’d rather kick up roost than sit still.

At the heart of the fun is a 144cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with a SOHC 2-valve setup and a friendly 9.5:1 compression ratio. It sips regular gas and uses a Keihin 20mm carburetor, delivering a straightforward, responsive feel that’s great for learning lines, practicing throttle control, and building confidence. Hit the button and go—electric start keeps the focus on riding, not wrestling with restarts.

The 5-speed manual transmission gives you room to grow, whether you’re cruising mellow sections or stepping up the pace. Power makes its way back through a chain drive, the classic off-road choice for durability and easy maintenance.

Sized to feel manageable without being toy-like, the KLX140R stretches 71.7 inches long with a 49.6-inch wheelbase, and offers a generous 9.3 inches of ground clearance for clearing ruts and uneven terrain. A 30.7-inch seat height helps keep things approachable, while the one-piece vinyl seat and handlebar steering keep the cockpit simple and natural.

Suspension is ready for trail chatter and backyard tracks: a 33mm telescopic fork up front and a UNI-TRAK rear setup with a single shock and adjustable spring preload, each delivering 7.1 inches of travel. Aluminum wheels wear IRC IX05H knobbies󈠖/100-17 front and 90/100-14 rear—both tubed, giving you that classic dirt-bike feel.

When it’s time to rein it in, you’ve got disc brakes front and rear, including a 220mm hydraulic front disc with a 2-piston caliper and a 186mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. Add in practical touches like an exhaust guard, side cover, and a kick stand, and this KLX140R is ready to turn any patch of dirt into your favorite place to be.
