2027 Suzuki GSX-R Lineup Announced
Gixxer aficionados can breathe a sigh of relief as Suzuki has announced that its iconic GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 supersport motorcycles will return to the U.S. lineup for 2027. As icing on the cake, a series of 40th Anniversary Editions for the GSX-R750Z and GSX-R1000 have also been revealed.
The championship-winning machines have been among the most recognizable nameplates in Suzuki’s lineup for decades, long defined by their performance and engineering. However, they were last updated in 2022, so their appearance this year was by no means a given.
The announcement comes on the heels of the brand’s initial release of its 2027 motorcycles, which included the debut of the new SV-7GX last month.
GSX-R600 and GSX-R600Z
Suzuki hasn’t lavished any mechanical upgrades on the two middleweight stalwarts for the 2027 model year. The GSX-R600 retains its compact, high-revving 599 cc inline-four engine and lightweight chassis—a combination that has provided a compelling balance of engine performance and agility over the years.
The twin-spar aluminum frame continues to mount premium components, including an inverted Showa Big Piston Front Fork and a remote-reservoir rear shock absorber. Both are adjustable. Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers act on fully floating dual 310 mm discs to provide track-ready stopping power.
Suzuki’s Drive Mode Selector, or S-DMS, gives riders the ability to select appropriate engine maps, while a built-in lap timer and programmable shift light offer additional track-day conveniences. There are some old-school concessions, though, including an analog tachometer and LCD readouts for speed, odometer and other basic information.
The 2027 GSX-R600 will be available in two paint and graphics packages: Candy Daring Red and Metallic Matte Black No. 2. MSRP is $12,499.
There is also a special Anniversary Edition GSX-R600Z, which features retro factory racing graphics and 40th Anniversary logos atop the classic blue-and-white colorway, along with blue rims. The design pays tribute to four decades of GSX-R heritage. The Anniversary Edition has an MSRP of $12,699.
GSX-R750 and GSX-R750Z
The GSX-R750 likewise continues with an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” theme. It is powered by a screaming 750 cc inline-four engine and paired with a compact, responsive chassis.
It, too, retains premium Showa suspension and Brembo braking components, along with rider-selectable engine maps and aerodynamically shaped bodywork. Street riders and racers alike have praised its punchy power over the years, giving it a well-earned reputation as an agile performer on the street or racetrack.
For 2027, the GSX-R750 is available in two new colorways: Candy Daring Red and Metallic Matte Black No. 2, as well as a 40th Anniversary Edition with a classic blue-and-white colorway, anniversary logos and special racing graphics. The latter is known as the GSX-R750Z.
The base model retails for $13,549, while the 40th Anniversary Edition GSX-R750Z carries an MSRP of $13,749.
GSX-R1000 Anniversary Editions
Details for Suzuki’s top-tier liter bikes, including official MSRP figures and availability for the 40th Anniversary Edition GSX-R1000 models, were included in the brand’s recent announcement.
The three 2027 GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary Edition models, including the base GSX-R1000, the higher-spec GSX-R1000R and the top-tier GSX-R1000RS, are all updated for 2027, with substantial revisions to the 999.8 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC inline-four engine.
Improvements include an updated crankshaft, a new cylinder head, new camshafts, larger exhaust valves and higher-pressure fuel injection. Suzuki says the revisions make this the quickest-accelerating GSX-R model yet.
Other upgrades across the series include a new Bosch IMU, which enables a range of electronic features, including the Smart TLR Control suite, adjustable launch control, adjustable wheelie control and refined cornering ABS.
The R-spec model outdoes the base machine with a more premium Showa front fork and rear shock, adjustable swingarm pivots and radial-mounted Brembo Monobloc brake calipers paired with stainless-steel lines.
The ultra-premium GSX-R1000RS package ups the ante with additional aerodynamic carbon fiber winglets and a redesigned lower fairing intended to improve high-speed stability.
The 2027 GSX-R1000 40th Anniversary Edition will be available in either Pearl Vigor Blue and Pearl Tech White or Pearl Ignite Yellow and Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, with special 40th Anniversary graphics. MSRP is $16,399.
The 2027 40th Anniversary Edition GSX-R1000R will wear either the Pearl Vigor Blue and Pearl Tech White or Candy Daring Red and Pearl Tech White paint schemes, along with special 40th Anniversary graphics. MSRP is $17,939.
The top-of-the-line 2027 GSX-R1000RS 40th Anniversary Edition will also be available in either Pearl Vigor Blue and Pearl Tech White or Candy Daring Red and Pearl Tech White. It features throwback 40th Anniversary graphics and a color-matched solo seat cowl.
A custom-designed ignition key features the GSX-R 40th Anniversary logo on its black handle. MSRP is $18,639.
The 2027 GSX-R 40th Anniversary models are expected to begin arriving from Japan at U.S. dealerships in late summer 2026, with prior reservations receiving priority. Remaining Anniversary Edition inventory will make its way to dealers as production ramps up through the end of 2026.
