Harley-Davidson Announces New Deadwood Model
Harley-Davidson has just introduced another special retro-inspired model to its portfolio. Built upon the Softail chassis, the Deadwood is a blacked-out cruiser inspired by styling trends of the late 1940s. Following WWII, many returning veterans got to work in their garages, stripping down their bikes to the bare essentials. The Deadwood is set to be officially unveiled at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally next month.
The Bare Essentials
Free of ornamental chrome trim, bright finishes and saddlebags, the 5 gal teardrop tank and fenders are all adorned in Denim Black paint, while the powertrain, exhaust, rear fender struts, handlebar and riser, hand and foot controls, fork covers and front end, signals and headlamp bucket (complete with blackout covers), are all finished in deep black. The laced wheels fill black rims and the chopped, detachable windshield gets a dark tint.
The Deadwood is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine channeled through a two-into-one exhaust. The 1,923 cc motor makes a claimed 98 hp and 120 lb-ft of torque. The lowered suspension and 25.5 in tuck-and-roll solo seat make it the lowest seated model in the lineup.
Vintage Style, Modern Technology
While the Deadwood model is inspired by garage customizers of the late 1940s, it includes modern safety technology and rider-focused features like cornering ABS , traction control and drag torque slip control, as well as LED lighting, and a USB-C charging port. The five-inch diameter instrument features an analog speedometer display above an LCD digital display. Road, Sport, and Rain ride modes control performance characteristics and intervention levels.
The 2026 Harley-Davidson Deadwood will be sold exclusively in the United States and Canada, with an MSRP of $17,999 USD. Available for order now, the model will be arriving at Harley-Davidson dealerships soon and making its official public debut on August 7 at the Harley-Davidson event headquarter activation during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, S.D.
