Ducati is taking another major step into the off-road world with the introduction of the all-new Desmo450 EDS. The company’s first modern street-legal enduro was designed to bring Ducati performance and personality to dual-sport riders in search of trail capability and road legality. Derived from the Desmo450 MX motocross platform, the new Desmo450 EDS (Enduro Street Legal) has been reengineered for enduro and dual-sport riding.
At the heart of the Desmo450 EDS is a redesigned 450 cc single-cylinder engine featuring Ducati’s signature desmodromic valve timing system. It’s a technology rarely seen outside the brand’s high-performance road bikes and is unique in the street-legal enduro segment. Ducati says the engine has been tuned specifically for stronger low- and mid-range torque, delivering smooth, controllable power.

The chassis is built around an aluminum perimeter frame derived from the motocross model, weighing 264 lb without fuel. The Desmo450 EDS utilizes dedicated Showa suspension developed specifically for enduro riding and a six-speed transmission with an up-only quickshifter. In addition to Brembo brakes and Metzeler Six Days Extreme tires (21 in front, 18 in rear), the EDS offers a larger 2.2 gal fuel tank, and advanced electronics.
When equipped with the optional Ducati Performance Racing Kit, the Desmo450 EDS gains a sophisticated traction control system that monitors rear-wheel slip. It offers multiple intervention levels, as well as the ability to be disengaged and overridden. Stock output is 42 hp @ 6,750 rpm and 33 left @ 5,750 rpm. With the optional Racing Kit installed, the Desmo450 EDS produces 54 hp, with output climbing to 56 hp when paired with the available Akrapovič exhaust system.

Ducati has also introduced adaptive maintenance technology that monitors engine wear based on riding conditions and adjusts service recommendations accordingly through the Ducati X-Link app. The EDS features an LED headlight and an LCD dash.
Combining race-derived engineering, advanced electronics, and the brand’s trademark desmodromic technology, the new dual-sport introduces an alternative to the premium enduro segment that is distinctively Ducati. The Desmo450 EDS will start arriving at select North American dealerships beginning in August 2026 with a starting MSRP of $12,995.
