For those on the lookout for the next bike to earn a sacred spot in their garage, the 2026 Suzuki GSX-8TT arrives right on cue. Blending retro design with modern engineering, it checks an awful lot of boxes and looks good doing it.
Suzuki revives its classic aesthetic with the 2026 GSX‑8TT, a neo-retro middleweight inspired by models from Suzuki’s greatest hits catalog. Styling cues like the flat-bottom LED headlight and compact front cowling recall the brand’s early sporting tradition while delivering modern lighting and effective wind protection. Other distinctive styling elements include the 8-Ball emblem, blacked-out engine, colored wheels, and retro paint schemes.
The 31.9 in seat height and handlebar positioning (featuring barend mounted mirrors) contribute to upright ergonomics. Equipped with a larger 4.3 gal fuel tank (the GSX-8S model’s is 3.7 gal), the expected range between fill-ups is 200 to 240 mi.
Power comes from Suzuki’s 776 cc parallel‑twin DOHC engine featuring a 270‑degree crankshaft, delivering 82 hp at 8,500 rpm and 57.5 lb-ft of torque at 6,800 rpm. A cross balancer system minimizes vibrations, while maintaining a lively throttle response for the 445 lb motorcycle.
That powerplant has become a versatile workhorse in Suzuki’s lineup, powering the V-Strom 800 as well as a range of GSX-8 models that include the naked GSX-8S, fully-faired GSX-8R, and a pair of new-for-2026, retro-inspired models, the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT.
The 8TT boasts some innovative technology. Unlike most motorcycles with an electric starter that has to be held until the engine turns over, Easy Start allows the bike to fire up with one quick push. Low RPM Assist, a ride-by-wire throttle, and Clutch Assist systems provide smooth starts and light, precise shifting of the six‑speed transmission.
While the 8TT carries a respectable suite of modern essentials like multiple ride modes, ABS, a USB-C charging port, and a bi‑directional quickshifter as standard equipment, unfortunately it doesn’t offer cruise control, adjustable suspension, or cornering ABS. The 5 in color TFT display clearly showcases important information like speed, gear selection, rpm, fuel level, time, and temperature, as well as traction control and ride mode settings.
Chassis highlights include KYB suspension components, dual front disc brakes with radial‑mount calipers, aluminum cast wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires, and a lightweight swingarm.
It’s approachable for newer riders progressing into the mid-size class and satisfying enough for experienced riders who want something practical, modern, and ready for real-world use. What it lacks in relation to a few notable items on the spec sheet, the GSX-8TT makes up for with its retro-modern styling, approachable ergonomics, smooth power delivery, dynamic handling, and approachable price tag.
