99One Launches New Helmet Communication System

We’ve seen some weird attempts at in-helmet tech, from augmented reality systems to noise-canceling helmets, or even built-in air conditioning. But third-party communication devices are here to stay. Not only have they been widely accepted and adopted by the riding community, but they’re now a must-have for many daily and group riders. Modern systems not only offer intercom capability and music streaming, but now also the benefits of asking Siri or Google for turn-by-turn directions or answering quick questions on the fly. Most of these units have looked largely the same over the years. They’ve all been a bit boxy, like an obviously separate unit you’ve attached to your helmet as an afterthought. A company called 99One is introducing its first product called Rogue. It is a sleek new comms device that leads with its design and boasts features comparable to the Cardo Packtalk Edge, but also promises some exciting new tech in the future.

99One was created through a new partnership between Aleck and Beebest. Aleck is known for in-helmet audio in the outdoor industry, specifically snow sports, while Beebest is known for its wearable walkie-talkies. Starting with a solid understanding of the tech industry, the company says that the Rogue reimagines helmet communication from the ground up.

The new Rogue looks to sit close to the helmet, and has a sleek round-edged design. The unit will be released in both black and white, with interchangeable wing tips for an added level of personalization. The front of the unit features one large primary button and volume controls, designed for use with a gloved hand. 

Intercom features mesh communication for up to 16 riders, and Bluetooth allows access to phone calls, music, and directions. 99One claims the battery will last up to 30 hours of music playback or 16 hours of continuous intercom. USB-C fast charging is said to deliver up to seven hours of playback on a 30 minute charge. The unit will also be completely weatherproof with an IP67-rated dust and waterproof rating. 

Beyond design, the 99One looks to set itself apart with new integration capability. The brand promises to integrate Aleck’s Off-Grid Bluetooth Walkie Talkie system to enable long-range rider communication beyond the limits of traditional mesh systems. They also promise integration with leading action camera platforms like GoPro, DJI, and Insta360 to allow riders to control key camera functions directly from their helmet. 

99One says the Rogue is designed to evolve, so they plan to continue to improve performance and add new features through firmware and feature improvements. The Rogue will eventually carry a full retail price of $299.95, but be available on Kickstarter in March of 2026 for as low as $220.
