Chances are pretty good that when one closes their eyes and imagines an Indian Motorcycle, the Chief is the image comes to mind. Inspired by the Chiefs of the 1940s, the new Chief Vintage blends classic American design with contemporary performance and technology. The unmistakable flowing valanced fenders, wire-spoke wheels, a scalloped vintage solo seat, and the illuminated Indian headdress, immediately evoke the brand’s golden age, but in a modern package.

“At its core, the Chief Vintage is about honoring where we’ve been while continuing to move forward,” said Indian Motorcycle Design Director Ola Stenegärd. “The original Chief set a benchmark for style, performance, and reliability that still resonates today.”

Beneath the nostalgic styling sits Indian Motorcycle’s air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 V-twin, producing a 120 ft-lbs of torque. Riders can tailor the experience through three selectable ride modes: Tour, Standard, and Sport.

Technology is said to be integrated in a manner that befits the bike’s vintage styling and appeal. The Chief Vintage features Indian Motorcycle’s 4-inch round touchscreen display powered by the latest Ride Command software, providing navigation with turn-by-turn directions and connected features such as weather and traffic overlays. Riders can also manage music, calls, and messages when paired with a compatible Smartphone.

Indian Motorcycle is also launching a comprehensive lineup of accessories alongside the Chief Vintage, allowing riders to further personalize comfort, style, and performance. Options range from quick-release windshields and weather-resistant saddlebags to adaptive LED lighting, touring upgrades for two-up riding, and Stage 1 performance enhancements.
