Ride-Worthy Winter Festivals

The onset of winter is a time when many riders tuck their bikes in for the season and wait patiently until warmer weather rolls around again. However, if you’re willing to travel, there are many fun festivals and events in warmer climates to attend all winter long. Some are motorcycle related and some are not, but all provide a destination worth pointing your front tire towards.

Search New and Used Motorcycles on the Cycle Trader Marketplace

If you’re in a northern, snow-covered part of the country or your journey would involve mountain passes at elevation, you may want to consider trailering your bike to where you can safely ride in comfort.

If you’re looking for some great excuses to hit some festivities that don’t necessarily involve biking events, we’ve got you covered on that, too. Most include great places to go for a ride in warmer weather outside of the venue area, so it’s pretty much of a win/win for anyone looking to hit the open road, see new territory, enjoy some great food and entertainment, and keep those winter blues at bay.

Florida Keys Seafood Festival

Once you cross the famous Seven Mile Bridge, you’ve left the 9-5 grind behind. February 14-15, 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the festival that features live local music and booths offering up fresh seafood.

Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival

Perhaps not a common cuisine for most, the Frog Leg Festival in Fellsmere, Florida is a 35-year tradition. Happening from January 15-18, 2026, the event highlights the local fare of frog legs and gator tails, along with live music and a street festival.

Gasparilla Pirate Festival

Scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026,, this unique event transforms Tampa Bay, Florida into a pirate colony for the weekend. Carrying hundreds of fierce pirates, along with a flotilla of revellers, the Jose Gasparilla II descends on the city with cannons booming. The city is filled with live music and themed parades. The weekend before is known as Children’s Gasparilla, featuring an air show, fireworks displays, and more family-friendly fun.

Mardi Gras

One of the biggest parties on the planet, Mardi Gras (French for “Fat Tuesday”) is held annually in New Orleans, Louisiana on the final day of Carnival, the day before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. In 2026, that day is February 17, but there are plenty of celebrations going on the week prior. Other large Mardis Gras celebrations are also held in Mobile, Alabama; St. Louis, Missouri; and Galveston, Texas.

Daytona Bike Week

Considered one of the most famous bike rallies in the world and the kickoff of bike season for many riders, Daytona Bike Week is a 10-day event scheduled for February 27 through March 8, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida. This will be the event’s 85th year and will include the usual festivals, concerts, bike shows, demo rides and racing at Daytona International Speedway, as well as street parties and plenty of vendors to pick up souvenirs  from your trip.

Arizona Bike Week

While technically just outside of what’s considered “winter,” Arizona Bike Week will be happening April 8–12, 2026 in Scottsdale, Arizona, for those who want to get their spring defrost started a little early. Featuring on-site camping, “The biggest motorcycle event in the Southwest” will feature the Arena Wars Fighting Series featuring mixed martial arts contestants, as well as music from Black Stone Cherry, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, and Cody Jinks.

Lone Star Rally

When everything is bigger in Texas, you know the biggest motorcycle rally in the Lone Star State is something special. The 2025 event was just recently held, but the 2026 rally will be held in Galveston from November 5–8, 2026 and will feature bike and car shows, a bike rodeo, national and regional bands, and a variety of competitions, including the Miss Lone Star Rally, tattoo, and sound shows.

Thunder By The Bay

Need something to get the New Year started off on the right peg? The 28th Annual Thunder By The Bay Music & Motors Festival will be held at the Sarasota Fairgrounds in Florida from February 13–15, 2026 to benefit Suncoast Charities for Children which aids local children, teens, and adults with special needs.

Headlining bands include Night Ranger, .38 Special, and Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery, in addition to the 12th Annual Sporting Clay Tournament, the Motorcycle & Car Drive So They Can Thrive Dice Run, Biker Rodeo Games, Car Show, and Bike Show.

There are plenty of amazing winter festivals held across the U.S. annually, so it’s just a matter of picking when you want to go and where you want to be. No matter where you choose to go, enjoy yourself but please remember to ride responsibly.
