Following last week’s announcement of sweeping changes to its Bonneville lineup, Triumph has officially unveiled the new 2026 Trident 800. More modern than the classically-styled Bonneville lineup and less futuristic than the Street and Speed models, the Trident brings an element of approachability and balance to the naked middleweight segment.
Offering an affordable entry point into the brand’s three-cylinder lineup, the Trident 660 struck a chord with riders when it debuted in 2020. Not simply a larger bore version of the existing model, the 2026 Triumph Trident 800 raises the bar with upgraded bodywork and revised rider geometry, improved braking, suspension and rider-focused technology.

Mounted to a tubular steel frame, the 798 cc liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine shared with the Triumph Tiger Sport makes a claimed 113 hp at 10,750 rpm and 61.9 lb.-ft. of torque at 8,500 rpm.
Boasting a ride-by-wire throttle and three riding modes: (Rain, Road, and Sport), the naked middleweight also gets a bi-directional quick shifter as standard equipment. The new model has LCD multifunction instruments and a 3.5-inch TFT display featuring Bluetooth connectivity for GPS navigation and audio, as well as an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that manages the lean-sensitive traction control and ABS.

The Trident 800 features an Akrapovic exhaust, with Showa 41mm forks up front and monoshock with adjustable preload and rebound in the rear. Braking duties are handled by four-piston radial-mount calipers with 310mm discs in the front, with a single piston caliper mated to a 220mm disc out back.

Offering a more rounded, retro appearance and neutral riding position, the Trident looks to retain an element of accessibility while adding performance and intuitive technology. Available in Carnival Red, Ash Grey, and Jet Black, the new Trident 800 is expected to arrive in the spring at a starting price of $9,995.
