Ducati Multistrada V4 S: Radar and Semi-Active Suspension

Ducati has come to the forefront in motorcycle touring technology by integrating Bosch radar systems into their Multistrada V4 S. The Travel and Radar package adds adaptive cruise control and blindspot detection, which until recently were systems more commonly found on cars and SUVs than motorcycles. This technology helps manage highway pace and warns riders of vehicles coming in and out of their blindspots. It is especially difficult to see adjacent traffic when peripheral vision is hindered by a helmet. 

Paired with Ducati’s semi-active Skyhook suspension and a rider-aid suite comprised of IMU-based ABS, corner traction control, and multiple ride modes. Offering the ability to adapt in real-time, the system’s predictive functionality can anticipate speed bumps and potholes.

Honda Gold Wing Tour: Dual Clutch Seven-Speed Transmission and Smartphone Integration

The Honda Gold Wing has long been the benchmark for long distance comfort in the world of big touring bikes. It continues to stand out thanks to features like Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and throttle-by-wire technology. The smooth, linear throttle response and clutch-less shifting are ideal for both stop-and-go traffic and long-distance touring as they reduce rider discomfort and fatigue.

Zero SR/F: Cypher OS and OTA Updates

With EV infrastructure gaining traction across many parts of the country and quick charging options becoming more readily available, electronic motorcycles are slowly becoming more commonplace. These rolling testbeds of technology offer innovations not seen on many traditional gas-powered models. The Zero SR/F is a prime example of this move into technologically advanced bikes. The Zero’s Cypher III+ operating system allows riders to customize power maps, manage regenerative braking, and access features through a smartphone app. 

Additionally, Zero supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates, so your bike can get the latest and greatest technology without visiting the dealership. The SR/F is connected and capable.

KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO: Semi-Active Suspension & Advanced Electronics

Austria’s KTM brings race-inspired electronics to the masses with their 1390 Super Duke R EVO upgrades. The platform for this second-generation offers semi-active suspension with electronically adjusting damping, lean-sensitive cornering ABS, Street, Sport And Track ride modes and a highly configurable traction control system. 

The EVO’s electronic suspension allows riders on this traditionally aggressive streetfighter to remain composed across a wide range of road and track conditions, delivering both the extreme power KTM is known for, as well as sophisticated chassis control for a smooth, predictable ride.

Yamaha YZF-R1M: Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS)

Yamaha has been a familiar name in racing for decades, and the brand continues to prove why they are an industry leader with the Yamaha R1M. Serving up MotoGP-inspired tech to the trackday rider, among the R1M’s highlights are its Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS), which is tied into a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). This state-of-the-art system uses real-time vehicle data like pitch, roll, and yaw angles as well as acceleration, speed, and braking to automatically adjust damping for optimal chassis stability and performance.

The R1M also has unified braking and slide/launch control systems, which rely on the IMU to optimize intervention, giving riders real-time chassis tuning that was once only available on professional racing bikes.
