History Of Triumph
Siegfried Bettmann founded the Triumph Cycle Company in Coventry, England, producing non-motorized bicycles and sewing machines. In 1902, the company added a Minerva engine to a bicycle, producing what is considered to be the first Triumph motorcycle. Thirteen years later, the company introduced the first “modern” Triumph with a chain drive and four-stroke engine. This model was known as the “Trusty” model H. that Jack Marshall led off the first Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) race in 1907, sparking greater interest in the company with the growing number of motorcycle enthusiasts.

Years later, facing financial difficulties, Triumph was taken over in 1951 by BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited), but continued to innovate motorcycle design and performance, producing models such as the Terrier and Thunderbird. In 1956, the Triumph Bonneville broke the land speed record for motorcycles on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah reaching a top speed of 192.7 mph.
After several years in a rut, John Bloor (Hinckley Limited) purchased the Triumph motorcycle brand name and manufacturing rights in 1983, revitalizing interest in the company. Triumph Motorcycles Limited has since grown to become a leading manufacturer of motorcycles.

The latest model of the Trident 660 features a three-cylinder, 12-valve, liquid-cooled, inline dual overhead cam 660cc engine. Powered by multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with electronic throttle, riders can select three different ride modes, including Rain, Road, or Sport. The six-speed gearbox is activated by a wet, multi-plate slip clutch.

The Trident is a roadster or naked bike, which means there is no fairing, the engine and frame is exposed, giving it a “rawer” look, and it has a more upright riding position, making it popular for urban commuting and street riding.
New features for the 2025 Trident, which are now standard, include optimized cornering ABS and traction control, Triumph shift assist, “Sport” riding mode, My Triumph connectivity, and cruise control.
The multi-function instrument cluster includes a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display, allowing for a brighter, more vibrant, and faster-responding action, which provides a compact and uncluttered design for easy at-a-glance interaction while riding. The display offers turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro control, in addition to phone and music connection via the switchgear.
While the Trident 660 is considered “naked,” it’s packed with features that include LED lighting and safety marker lights and retro-modern styling. It is available in four different color schemes, including Jet Black (standard), diablo red/sapphire black, cosmic yellow/sapphire black, and cobalt blue/sapphire black.
Accessories include heated grips, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a USB charger, and a dark-tinted fly screen or clear touring screen. For added protection, there are engine cover protectors, tank pads, a frame protection kit, and CNC-machined fork protectors. Owners can also add a tank bag or tail pack for storage, in addition to a variety of other customization items.
The new Trident 660 Triple Tribute Addition offers a throwback to Triumph’s racing tradition with a bold livery (paint, decals, and color scheme) that includes sapphire black body work and diablo red wheels.
