In January, Harley-Davidson announced the discontinuation of its 2024 Ultra Limited model, introducing the 2025 Street Glide Ultra as its replacement, a move that has sparked discord among riders. The 2025 model, which is 51 lbs. lighter than its predecessor, features enhanced lower fairings for improved leg protection, added storage, increased torque, and a larger luggage rack.

Riders React Negatively to the Announcement

Harley-Davidson was met with criticism by their social media followers after revealing the new entry into the Street Glide models series. Much of the criticism surrounding the 2025 Street Glide Ultra is focused on its design. Harley-Davidson itself has emphasized the premium feel of the bike’s components. Harley-Davidson is taking the criticism in stride, instead leaning into the upgrades the 2025 Street Glide Ultra model has.

Harley-Davidson Stands by Its Design Changes

Some riders remain skeptical, which isn’t an unfamiliar reaction in Harley-Davidson’s case. The company has had its fair share of pushback throughout Harley-Davidson’s 122-year history. 

Despite this, Harley-Davidson continues to be one of the most successful motorcycle manufacturers in the world. A single motorcycle design that doesn’t vibe with riders is unlikely to significantly impact their reputation for being leaders in the motorsport industry.

Time is running out for riders to purchase the 2024 Ultra Limited, as Harley-Davidson plans to end sales of the model at the end of February.
