2025 BMW M and S Series: An In-Depth Look
Following BMW Motorrad’s recent World Superbike victory, the brand has introduced updates across its M and S series. The M 1000 RR has received the most substantial improvements. Other models (the S 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and S 1000 R) have also received aerodynamic, chassis, and feature enhancements. All four bikes are now Euro5+ compliant. 2025 BMW M 1000 RR
Achieving and maintaining top performance in World Superbike is no easy feat, so BMW has upgraded the M 1000 RR to stay competitive in this series.
The 2025 M 1000 RR has a redesigned engine, new titanium valves, and larger throttle bodies. While U.S. models maintain the same power as last year, other performance adjustments have enhanced ride control and handling. The M Quick-Action Throttle’s rotation was reduced, giving riders more control. Dynamic Traction Control now includes a Slide Control feature, which allows for controlled track slides.
New electronic upgrades include Brake Slide Assist, which uses steering-angle data for set drift angles when braking into turns. For slick tires on the track, there’s a dedicated Race Pro riding mode. The 2025 M 1000 RR also features an updated frame, with a new engine mount on the left and optimized flex characteristics near the steering head.
2025 BMW S 1000 RR
The 2025 S 1000 RR received a few minor updates, mostly on aerodynamics and body design. It brings back the original 2009 look with asymmetrical fairings: a large heat vent on the left and a gill-style design on the right. The new plastic winglets provide better stability at high speeds, and a redesigned front fender has brake cooling ducts for improved performance on the track.
The 2025 S 1000 RR’s engine is the same, featuring plenty of power, but it now includes the improved M Quick-Action Throttle and pro riding modes.

2025 BMW S 1000 R
The 2025 S 1000 R also received some modest upgrades, including a horsepower increase, now reaching 170 hp at 11,000 rpm, and a new final drive ratio for quicker acceleration.
The bike’s electronics now feature the M Quick-Action Throttle, a quickshifter, Drag Torque Control (MSR), and adjustable engine-braking settings.
New additions include a USB-C charger, dual-flow LED headlights, and BMW’s E-Call system.

2025 BMW M 1000 R
The M 1000 R received the fewest changes within this series. It gained the M Quick-Action Throttle, dual-flow LED headlights, black M winglets, black engine covers, and Platinum Grey subframe and swingarm.
