Following the success and excitement of the Myrtle Beach Bike Week® Spring Rally, held from May 10 to 19, 2024, the Fall Edition is set to take place from September 30 to October 6. People are already gearing up for this highly anticipated event. The 85th Annual Fall Rally promises plenty of action for attendees, and Cycle Trader is here to provide a preview of what visitors can expect.

History

Started in 1940 by biking enthusiasts in North Myrtle Beach, the rally has grown to welcome hundreds of thousands of bike lovers to the southeast, now spanning 10 days to keep the momentum rolling. Bike Week is also known as a “riding event,” featuring a wave of roaring motorcycles traveling south along the Murrells Inlet coastline to historic Charleston. The northern route leads to Wilmington, North Carolina, offering great places to eat and things to see along the way.

Today, it stands as the largest motorcycle event in the Carolinas, with over 300,000 attendees expected at this year’s Fall Rally.

Miles Of Bikes

If you haven’t attended either Myrtle Beach event yet, you’re in for a treat. Expect a lot of great music, plenty of bike shows and exhibits, bike games and competitions. Plus, a wide array of vendors showcasing their products. There are also several local restaurants and bars ready to welcome visitors.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week takes place along The Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of Atlantic Ocean coastline. Explore various locations within The Grand Strand, including Little River (the northernmost point), North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Garden City, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield Beach, Pawleys Island, and Georgetown, South Carolina.

Just remember a few rules while you’re there:

• You must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcoholic beverages.
• You may not have open containers of alcoholic beverages in vehicles or public areas. If you plan to drink, please stay within designated areas.
• South Carolina law states that motorcycle operators and passengers under 21 must wear a Department of Transportation-approved helmet. If you journey into North Carolina while visiting the rally, ALL riders and passengers must wear an approved helmet, regardless of age.
• Speeding, seatbelt, and driving under the influence laws will be strictly enforced. If you plan to drink alcohol, please have a designated driver, use public transportation (buses and shuttles are available), walk short distances, or use a rideshare app like Lyft or Uber.
• No littering. Myrtle Beach is a beautiful destination, and they’d like to keep it that way. Please dispose of all litter responsibly. 

As always, wear sunscreen and be sure to wear protective clothing when riding.

Where To Stay/What To Do

In addition to the rally, there is plenty to see and do while in Myrtle Beach. Definitely check out the event website and plan out your itinerary before you go. Knowing what you want to see and do in advance will help make the trip go more smoothly for you and those you’ll be traveling with. 

As for where to stay, you can probably imagine that an event that attracts so many people also fills hotel rooms pretty quickly.
