Summer is the perfect time to hit the road for some care-free adventure. If your schedule is open, then mark your calendar for one of the many motorcycle events happening across the country. Cycle Trader has put together a list of the top 10 summer motorcycle rallies and events from now until the official end of summer, Sept. 23.

1. Gettysburg Bike Week

July 6-9, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Gettysburg Bike Week is eastern Pennsylvania’s most popular motorcycle rally. Hear live music from national acts and take a ride through the historic city. The event will also include slow-riding bike games, a stunt show, and an outdoor bike show. Event attendees can also browse the motorcycle wares at the vendor village, as well as the Swap Meet and Antique Bike Show.

2. ABATE Indiana Annual Boogie

July 20–23, Springville, Indiana

For over 40 years, American Bikers Aimed Toward Education (ABATE) of Indiana has hosted the Boogie, a celebration of the hard-working volunteers in the motorcyclists’ rights community. Once a members-only event, everyone is free to let loose and enjoy the live music and entertainment, ride-in bike show, mini bike games, contests, and a scenic bike run through Lawrence County.

3. AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days

July 21-23, Lexington, Ohio

The American Motorcyclist Association’s AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days is the largest motorcycle swap meet in North America. This is your chance to browse hundreds of vendors selling everything from gear and accessories to art for motorcycle enthusiasts. The event also includes thrilling vintage bike races, group rides through the countryside, the Wall of Death stunt show, and more.

4. Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

Aug. 4–13, Sturgis, South Dakota

One of the largest, most popular rallies in the country, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is 10 days of historic rides, live music, and vendors. Attendees can also watch both amateurs and professionals compete in electrifying hill climbs, drag races, motocross races, and more.

5. Four Corners Motorcycle Rally

Aug. 31–Sept. 4, Durango, Colorado

Four Corners Motorcycle Rally gets its name for its proximity to the borders of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. A majority of this family-friendly event takes place in Durango and offers a full schedule of thrilling activities, including Harley-Davidson demo rides, bike shows, and the Hooligan Dirt Dash—a rowdy, outlaw-style dirt track race. 

6. Thunder in the Rockies Bike Rally

TBA, Loveland, Colorado

Presented by Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson, Thunder in the Rockies Bike Rally is an action-packed event over Labor Day weekend. Hardcore bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over come to Loveland for live music, competitions, and unique vendors.

7. Ladies in Leather Parade & Rally

Sept. 7-9, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Grab your girls and don’t miss Ladies in Leather, the largest traveling all-female motorcycle parade in the country. The highlight of the rally weekend is the motorcycle parade led by women riders through downtown Hot Springs on Saturday. This event will also feature entertainment from a biker comedian and hypnotist, along with a pool party.

8. SmokeOut Rally

Sept. 7–10, Salisbury, North Carolina

For more than 20 years, SmokeOut Rally has celebrated chopper culture. This year’s event is back where it all began, in Salisbury. SmokeOut will have something for all two-wheel lovers, such as ride-in movies, competitions, dirt drags, burnout drags and much more. 

9. DelMarVa Bike Week

TBA, Salisbury, Maryland

DelMarVa Bike Week is the largest motorcycle rally on the East Coast. Held in conjunction with OC BikeFest, this rally takes place near Ocean City, Maryland. Hang out on the beach and boardwalk when you aren’t on your bike and between Bike Week events. Enjoy a week of live music, ride-in bike shows, vendors, raffles, and a block party.

10. Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest

Sept. 13–17, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

Set against the backdrop of the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest draws more than 125,000 attendees who hit the road for the scenery, more than 50 live music and entertainment shows, giveaways, and more. The Ozarks’ twisting roads and waterside landscape make this motorcycle touring destination.
