A new year signifies a fresh lineup of motorcycles from the industry’s hottest brands. As we cruise into 2022, Cycle Trader is shining a headlight on two popular brands that recently unveiled new bike models for this year.

Harley-Davidson Debuts 2022 Lineup

Harley-Davidson announced its newest model lineup under the slogan, “Further. Faster.” The eight new models include the Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST in the Grand American Touring line, the more powerful Low Rider S and the new Low Rider ST Cruiser models, and four super-premium models from Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO).

Harley’s 2022 lineup has been designed for power and performance. These bikes are powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117, the most-powerful factory-installed engine offered by the brand.

Following a championship win at the 2021 MotoAmerica King of the Baggers, Harley-Davidson decided to elevate the performance of the brand’s bagger race bikes with the new Street Glide ST and Road Glide ST models. The Street Glide ST showcases Harley’s iconic batwing fairing, while the Road Glide ST propels with an aerodynamic frame-mounted sharknose fairing.

The Low Rider S is a performance cruiser bike, ideal for riders seeking “unapologetic power.” Upgrades to the Low Rider ST include a new frame-mounted fairing. Both models embrace the West Coast custom style with a “lean, performance-comes-first posture.”

Limited-production factory custom models are available from Harley-Davidson CVO. These four bikes, the CVO Street Glide, CVO Road Glide, CVO Road Glide Limited, and CVO Tri Glide, represent the peak of style and design from the brand. The exclusive paint colors, advanced technology, and handcrafted attention to detail help distinguish this new CVO line from other bikes on the market.

Harley-Davidson’s new 2022 models are currently available at authorized dealerships in the U.S.

Kawasaki Celebrates 50 Years with Special Models

Kawasaki is celebrating 50 years of the Zed line of motorcycles with four new models. The Z900, Z650, Z900RS, and Z650RS will comprise the Z50 special anniversary models. These special editions feature the same versatility, sport performance, and technology as the regular models. Kawasaki will give these supernaked street bikes a glossy refresh with nostalgic touches.

The Z50 edition of the Z900 and Z650 will be painted “Firecracker Red,” which is reminiscent of the legendary 1981 Z1100GP color scheme. That specific red hue was Kawasaki’s signature color in the 1980s. The special edition bikes will be embellished with a golden Z emblem and Kawasaki logo on the front fender. Both of these bikes will also turn heads with their red wheels, featuring silver pinstripes.

The 50th anniversary editions of the Z900RS and Z650RS will adorn the iconic 1972 Z1 “Fireball” paint. These retro sport bikes are finished in a deep black paint, with gold-colored wheels, for a dash of old-school. Other features include a commemorative Z 50th anniversary tank logo, special color-stitched seat material, a chrome grab bar, and a double overhead camshaft side cover like the one found on the original Z1.

The Z50 special editions will be for sale early this year, with limited availability. Anyone who buys a Z 50th Anniversary Edition model will also receive a special coffee table book that commemorates 50 years of the Z brand.
