In the event of an accident where a rider is thrown off their motorcycle, the air cushion inflates in an instant (.25 seconds or less) for protection. A wire is attached to the rider and the jacket and once a rider is separated from the bike, the wire pulls a key out of the gas release system which activates the air cushion.
