Yamaha TW200 Information:
The Yamaha TW200 is a bike manufactured by Yamaha since 1987. It is a dual-sport class motorcycle that features a 196cc single-cylinder engine. Because of the bike's large tires, it has been compared to the two-wheel-drive Rokon and has also been referred to as a two-wheeled quad.
A dual-sport class motorcycle is a kind of street legal motorcycle that is designed for use both on the road and off road. You may also hear them referred to as all-road on/off road dual purpose. Dual sports bikes such as the Yamaha TW200 feature all the required street legal equipment such as lights, horn, speedometer, mirrors, muffler, and license plate mounting so they can be registered and licensed, but are also equipped for off road use, giving motorcyclists the best of both worlds.
In its debut year, Shinji Kazama, a Japanese motorcyclist, rode a Yamaha TW200 to the North Pole. He has since also traveled to the South Pole via motorcycle and as of 2010, remained the only person to reach both poles this way.
The Yamaha TW200 is a great bike for people who are new to riding because new riders will undoubtedly drop their bike at least once. The lightweight frame ensures it's not only easy to pick up again, but that you won't damage the plastics as bad as you would with a heavier, flashier bike.
