1974 BMW R90S. Complete re-build and paint in 2004 with ~6,344 miles since. Boyer Bransden twin plug electronic ignition. Pannier rack, Sunbrella cover (though stored mostly inside). Various BMW documentation and service literatureThis bike runs like new. This is not a conversion. It's the real thing, and a sweet running bike. Not original: twin plug, electronic ignition, paint scheme. I believe that the gas cap and speedo-tach are from another model airhead. The pannier rack has some surface rust on it. The previous owner (San Jose, CA) conducted a total re-build and paint on this bike, and it had less than two thousand miles on it when I bought it. I have receipts for most of this as well as more recent services. I had the hand-painted pinstripes added.I have additional pictures of the re-build. Contact me with questions.I prefer buyer to pick up but may elect to deliver. Alternatively, commercial shippers are available and I can prep the bike for suchTool kit and airpump

The R90 s is the original superbike in BMW's lineup and this is a great example of one.  It is a daily rider so it runs like new but is not perfect.  The values of these bikes will only go up so it could be a great investment and a great addition to anyones garage.  Come and see it in person and take it for a ride and you will fall in love.

Classic 70's! Bing CV carbs! Drilled front disc! Wire wheels! Fork gaiters! Everything is sound! This bike can be a daily rider or a bike that you make like brand new! Some metal polish and elbow grease and you have a time machine! We ship to most of the US for $450!The R90/6 reigned as just about the best standard motorcycle you could buy in the mid-1970s, and it was worth every bit of the price thanks in large part to the changes and updates from the previous /5 series. The R90/6 had a higher-capacity alternator, and a frame-mounted, cable-actuated master cylinder pressurized the 260mm front disc brake with single-piston caliper. The five-speed transmission made a nice match with the new engine. The old /5 series bikes had a speedometer in the headlamp nacelle, but now a full instrument cluster perched over the handlebar, and these gauges incorporated printed circuitry and were tightly encased against moisture. With the advent of the /6 series, the air-cooled, overhead-valve, horizontally opposed twin was upsized to displace 898cc, with bore and stroke of 90.0 x 70.6 mm and a 9.0:1 compression ratio. A pair of 32mm Bing constant-velocity carburetors fed the combustion chambers, and output was 60hp at 6,500 rpm.Advertised pricing excludes applicable state taxes, title, licensing and fees, dealer set-up, destination, reconditioning, and are subject to change without notice. Sale price includes all applicable offers and promotions. Not all options listed available on pre-owned models. Financing with approved credit. Additional restriction may apply. Great running bike with 70k on it. Has good tires, new seat cover, and freshly rebuilt carbs. Has a small oil leak from the oil pan. Other than that it is a solid machine. The paint on the tank is faded shown in the pictures and the front fender has some chipped paint. I would not hesitate to ride this bike everyday! I have saddle bags and a windjammer faring that are not pictured and a box of spare parts.  Contact me for more photos and a video of it running.

Best of everything, Classic BMW with Steib sidecar. This motorcycle was designed and constructed by an aeronautical engineer using only the best components. He started with a reliable low milage BMW R90/6 engine, upgraded with Bing flat top carbureters and 5 speed gearbox. The frame was gusseted with substancial bracing to strengthen it for sidecar use. The fork is a BMW Earls fork with EML shock absorbers, EML steering damper. A Brembo disc brake up front and 15 inch radial tires on alloy rims all around. The gas tank is an original steel Heinrich 8 gallon touring tank. Headlight is /5 with halagon light and built in speedometer and tach. The handle bars are low and wide, mounted on cast alloy risers. The bikes ergonomics fit the rider perfectly and the BMW police solo seat is very comfortable. Rear shocks are EML. A craven luggage case finishes the rear. About the sidecar; The boat is an original, steel, Steib S250, the rarest of the Steib models and this one is in perfect condition. The fender is also a steel Steib and it has been artfully widened to accomidate the 15inch radial sidecar wheel. The best part is the sidecar chassis, this is completely custom made and it is much more robust than the original Steib chassis. The boat rides on leaf springs and the sidecar axle is torsion spring suspended. A handsome rear luggage rack is perfect for that extra suitcase. The sideca upholstery is top rate with

1974 BMW R90S, In 1974 this was the motorcycle that showed the world that BMW wasn't a slow bike for old men. Long considered one of the great Superbikes of the seventies, today the R90S is a revered icon of a bygone era. Our '74 is the first year of production, '76 was the last. Mileage is correct.

This rare collector bike is a phenomenal investment and was the one that saved BMW Motorcycle.  It was often bought and raced right off the showroom floor as it was very competitive in its day.  At approximately 33,000 miles this bike was restored and only driven a couple hundred miles after that, then placed in storage as an investment.  Current mileage is 33,200.  Comes with side mounted hard carriers for both sides.  Only has two small rock chips on fairing since restoration but other then that it is in near museum quality condition.  This classic bike is priced at BELOW market value (NADA says $13,525) and will only appreciate in the coming years.  Looking for a good home for her where she can continue to be spoiled and appreciated.  Accepting PayPal or cash in person only.  You will be responsible for shipping arrangements and costs or picking up in person.
