I am looking for a collector – enthusiast – or museum where this bike can have it’s next home. ORIGINAL and UNRESTORED ….This is a rare one-family bike (34 years ) in with original tires and paint in perfect mechanical condition, detailed so well it is ready for Pebble Beach !  Folks what a RARE beauty, this is the LAST ONE of the Concours R65LS’s in the states, What a BEAUTIFUL bike!  THIS IS THE LAST ONE IN CONCOURS SHAPE with ORIGINAL PAINT/TIRES… Wow !! This bike was purchased by a cousin of mine in 1983 .  In the first few years he only put 2500 miles on , the bike was always garaged. In 1989 the bike was transported to Colorado where it lived in the high dry altitude of Colorado’s front range , protected from the sun and all weather. No rust, no paint fading ….just a rare immaculate finish . In 2016 my jaw dropped …. the bike only had 2700 miles on it. I brought the bike back to life  , bringing it to a showroom roadworthy condition . The bike was still not broken in and gentleness was the rule for the year - always an extended warmup on rides, I was amazed at how perfect condition the tires (zero tire cracks) and bike are in. With double Brembo calipers on the front end this bike STOPS , it’s relatively short frame allows it to turn with a sportier line than the larger BMW’s. The front profile of this bike is a narrow stiletto , it has great tractable power, safer and more fun than a hyper-bike . The bike has given me 45-55mpg for the last year’s fuel economy. The finish on the original paint draws eyes and comments wherever I go. The paint ….THE PAINT …. this Hennarot Red is so perfect , just never exposed to the elements or left in the sun ! This bike has only 4627 original miles on it and is in a perfect state of tune. In the last 100 miles I’ve adjusted the valves, balanced the carbs , not a wisp of oil leakage anywhere!  This LS has great handling with a glassy ride , a 5.5 gallon tank gives plenty of range. What fun !Wait till you see how clean this bike is …. the leather on the seat …. just perfect ….so soft … so clean !  This bike is just SPECTACULAR ! It has cast wheels and a Hennarot Red paint that is a real eye catcher! With a flat torque curve and electronic ignition this 5 speed puts out 50 hp in the most usable fashion. Just a unique bike waiting for a collector - an enthusiast or a museum that wants something no one else has ! A fair price at $11,900  Below are 3 HD YouTube links showing the bike – enjoy them all! Walk around intro video. Slideshow with detailed pictures. Cold start and fully warmed up bike running . Call Rick Laurenzi today at 719-685-4141 to arrange the delivery to your location !

1981 BMW R65, 1981 BMW R65 superbly set up for the race track. This is a very well sorted BMW R65 that was built to race in AHRMA's Vintage Superbike Lightweight class. I bought the bike from a Southeast AHRMA racer that I had some good battles with in another class on our /5's. This was a pretty well set up bike when I bought her. The suspension was well tuned for my 195 pounds in leathers and she felt good to me. The set up was confirmed by tuner Dave Moss at a test day. She has the San Jose frame brace installed. I beefed up the front brake as the set up that was on her did not have nearly as much power or control as I like in a front brake. We rebuilt the cylinder heads, rebuilt the transmission for smoother shifting, and performed a series of thorough mechanical inspections. I would expect this to be a reliable race bike. The cockpit is well set up with a tach and shift light. The footpegs are set up where the passenger pegs would be on a stock bike. This is a great set up for a rear set effect. The bike also comes with a small kit of spares and the original belly pan that came with the bike. We prefer the aluminum belly pans so we made the one that's on the bike now. She performs well on the track. With 46 HP coming from a stock motor with upgraded carbs and dyno tuning, this is a good combo of performance and reliability. The bike starts easily and idles nicely when warmed up. If someone wanted to build a high performance custom street bike, this would be a very good platform for such a project as it comes with a clean street legal title. I'm leaving the Motoworks livery on the bike, but I will have my graphics guy decal the bike with your sponsor logo and race #'s as part of the sale. Call Motoworks at 312-738-4269.
