But these Honda CX's & GL's always start that's one of the reason I love them so much as well as their simplicity.1.) 1978 Honda CX 500 less than 8,000 original miles. Has factory authorized redesigned cam tensioner assembly which is identified by 3 hand chiseled dots forming a pyramid adjacent to the stamped engine serial number. VIN # CX 500 - 2024889 NO TITLE but can prove there are NO warrants or wants on this model because I ran 1989 Iowa license plate and registration tag (THAT WERE FITTED TO THE BIKE) with the Iowa state police and the Iowa department of Transportation (when I lived in Iowa 2007 -2013) research delivered no warrants or wants because Iowa state Records did not have any data due to the bikes, license plate and registration tag being very old age. Modified with GL 1100 rear dual air shocks Siamesed into one single fill Schrader valve. Refitted with 1983 CX 500 front end to gain front dual disk brakes (all caliper seals and pads and fork oil replaced) and air over oil front forks and converted OEM steering races and loose ball bearings with All Balls tapered and caged roller bearings and the addition of CBX/Magna frame mounted 1/2 fairing. Upgraded carburetors from 1978 carbs to 1983 carbs (fully repaired with new jets, O rings air cut off diaphragms, accelerator diaphragms) to gain the addition of the accelerator pump circuit of 1983 models. Good tire tread but old Mfg. date no side wall cracking. Upgraded front and rear wheel wheels to later model that were painted black w/silver (OEM) Owned since 2003. Added rear chrome luggage rack. The bike turns over but has not been started in at least 10 years.
