Mental Illness Trike Custom stainless frame trike with one off hub center steering. Engine is a 5.3 with twin Gale Banks turbos. C5 Corvette transmission, transaxle and suspension narrowed 16”. Every part was hand made and no custom parts needed for replacement items like water pump or breaks. Designed to be user friendly. Frame is the fuel tank with 10 gallons. Very minimalist, yet daily reliability. Trike was completed in 2016 and is titled as a 1980 Suzuki GS1100. This was done due to Texas Builder Laws and can be titled as a custom Trike and new VIN issued if your state allows it. There are many engineering item on this trike and many mechanical engineers have been involved in the build. Most notable is the full manual hydraulic steering. There are only 5 like it in the world. Rocket Trike 2, Rivet, Justrykin, one in New Zeland, and my Mental Illness. The Gale Banks Twin Turbo system is a draw through type developed in 1970 for offshore race boats. Very few left and fewer that are operational. Turbos are NOS from 1980s and are aircraft turbos correct for the system. Makes 5 psi at 3800 and 15 psi at 5800 if you can hold on that long. Theoretically, it’s capable of 235 mph.
