Ducati Monster Information:
The Ducati Monster, known as II Monstro in Italian, is a muscle bike. Designed by Miguel Angel, it's been produced by Ducati in Bologna, Italy since 1993. It is a "naked" bike because the frame and engine are exposed.
Naked bakes are also known as standards or roasters because they are considered general purpose, versatile street motorcycles. You can easily recognize them by their upright riding position. It's somewhere in the middle of the reclining riding posture of a cruiser and the forward leaning posture associated with sports bikes. Because it is a standard bike, it is a good option for people who are new to riding. They are lower cost and more flexible than other styles. The fact that the Ducati Monster is considered a muscle bike means that it was derived from either the standard or sport bike design, but there's a significant focus on engine power. Since its beginning in 1993, the Ducati Monster line has seen several variations, from a basic entry level 400-cc bike all the way to 160 horsepower top o the line bikes that feature superbike water cooled engines. Depending on the model year, you may see as many as nine different versions available.
