Ducati Motorcycles

Ducati is an Italian manufacturer of motorcycles, spork bikes, and street bikes. Established in 1926, in the city of Bologna, Italy, Ducati is best known for their motorcycles' L-twin engines. Ducati motorcycles were first produced post WWII, and started as simple motors attached to bicycles. Throughout the 1950s, Ducati started to grow more and more popular in the racing world. The rise in sales at that time was mostly credited to engineer Fabio Taglioni, who developed the desmodromic valve system. In the mid '90s, the company's ownership changed hands to an American investment firm, who continued to improve and evolve Ducati motorcycles, keeping them at the top of the racing industry. Most of Ducati motorcycles still use the L-twin engine, but have greatly developed since the beginning of production. The bikes are well known to this day around the world not only for their racing credentials, but their classic Italian look and style.
